personality; Deep down, he's pretty insecure, but refuses to let it show. He feels like if he shows his doubts and worries too much, he'll be looked down upon, ridiculed, and will become less trusted. As he grows to trust you, he will let you in a little bit, but no one truly knows how deep it goes except for himself. This leads him to sometimes be gruff and short, even to the point of being rude, and taking criticism especially hard. He will tend to keep to himself on bad days. On the contrary, if he's having a good day he will be generous and helpful.
He has a soft spot for his family, as he always wanted a family, and grows soft spots for certain cats who he sees that he might be able to help. For example, orphan kits, those new to the clan, etc.
He likes positions that make him feel "powerful", aka more secure, such as leading a patrol, giving life advice to his kits, or hunting on his own. He'd like to mentor an apprentice someday.

personality; A wistful, romantic sort. His genuine kindness and sense of wonderment with the world can make him a breath of fresh air in the often harsh life of a warrior. He can speak at length about the flowers and the trees, getting poetic and even lyrical about the unpredictable beauty of the world around them. Indeed, he's the sort to see the pretty in the ugly, while understanding that looking beautiful does not mean being beautiful. The scar across his partner's eye is a shield around his tender heart, and the pearly white fur of his grand-daughter is a reminder that light shines even from the dimmest sources.

Despite his gentle, patient nature, he does have a limit. He can be a bit petty towards those who have wronged him or slighted his family in some way, making any potential family meeting a little less likely to go smoothly given how different his children are. He's a little haughty about his way with words, using them to purposefully go over other folks' heads at times.

He's a bit claustrophobic, and on nights when he's feeling troubled he tends to sleep outside the dens, curled up against the outer wall or in some other nook around the camp.

His opinions on Crowdance are mixed; he is fond of his children but wishes this one were more, ah, responsible. Duskracer he is quite proud of, if feeling a bit of that parental confusion that comes with your child achieving more than you ever had; he wants to be supportive, but worries he has no more advice left to give to someone so accomplished.

As for his extended family, well, he doesn't truthfully know all of them and worries he never will (Crowdance...), but he feels mixed about Paletongue, his grand-daughter's older brother and the recent clan medicine cat. He does a fine enough job and all- but isn't there an odd chill to his eyes?

history; Mintnose was born as simply "Mint", growing up around the nearby town but always dodging adoption. He enjoyed spending time with the eclectic local kittypets and loners, even one or two rogues who were patient enough to deal with a kitten in their presence. Every night he'd return home to the tiny, dusky basement his mother and siblings hid out in until one by one, they grew old enough to strike out alone- or accepted the offer of some twoleg, or got snatched by the twolegs in the large white monsters that came from the cutter's den. Eventually, it was just him and his mother. And after a season or two, it was just him one day, returning to an empty basement that felt more cramped than ever.

The city seemed to change overnight. Old friends from porches had moved on or passed away, none of his family anywhere to be found. The town had nothing left for him but half-gnawed crawfish and too-alert mice. When a particularly harsh rainstorm flooded his last refuge, he struck out into the woods and found something very strange.

He joined the still-young NightClan as a new apprentice, where he would stay and become a warrior in time. As he settled into the structured, communal life of the clan, he'd also meet his partner and raise two children of his own. With his kids grown and his grandkits starting to walk around, his mind wanders to the idea of raising more children or finding some sort of hobby to occupy himself in his second half of warrior life. He's a bit shy to ask Bearsong about it just yet.
