IN CHARACTER RULES

The minimum word count is 100 words
100 words is easily achievable. That is one solid paragraph. We do however encourage more. The longer the post, the more easy it is to respond. Writing less than 100 words almost guarantees no one will respond. It's difficult. Think about your surroundings. Describe what your character hears, sees, feels, etc.

The plot line
The plot is strictly member driven! That means members are free to come up with their own plot lines with each other. Plots that involve the entire clan will need permission from the leader. Major lengthy plot lines are welcome, but check in the staff to ensure it doesn't conflict with any others that are going on! Fights, sickness, rogues, drama, are all highly encouraged!

We use liquid time
Liquid time means you can RP in multiple places at once, and be at different times of the day. That means your character can be at the gathering, and running through the forest at the same time!

Please post in the correct area
There are times where characters may wander into different territories for plotting purposes. However if you have an X-Clan apprentice, do not post your training thread in Y-Clan territory.

No godmodding, powerplaying, or metagaming
Godmodding is taking control of another player's character during roleplay. An example of this is if somebody writes that their character kills yours without asking for your permission beforehand. Always check with your writing partner before writing how something affects their character before their own response.

Powerplaying is making an overpowered character that can never be hurt. Remember that all characters should have flaws, and that no character is invincible. Even the strongest characters should get hurt sometimes!

Metagaming is when a character knows something that they have no way of knowing in character. An example of this is if you tell your writing partner out of character that your character secretly loves them, and then in their next reply they have their character suddenly know this. 

There is a character limit
To prevent over population each RPer should not have more than 10 characters. This seems like a lot, but when kits start being born and you see how cute they are, people go crazy. Starclan, Dark Forest, and Void Characters do NOT count towards this limit.

Characters are aged the 1st of each month
Characters will age +1 moon on the 1st of each real life month. When kits are born, they are automatically aged to 1 moon to make them RP-able.

Leaders pick your warrior name
Just like the books, if your apprentice is about to be made a warrior, the leader picks the name. Not you. If you are very adamant about a specific name, please DM the RPer of the leader to ask them politely about it. It will help if you give a good reason for the name - for example, if Blackpaw was a good fighter, then Blackclaw could be a good name!

Inactivity will cause you to lose a high rank
If you are inactive for 1 month OOC and not meeting the thread requirements. You will be considered inactive and your character will be 'written off' - they will not be killed so that if you do come back they are rp-able as warriors! Perhaps they went on a long term journey, retired or went missing.

We do understand that life happens. If you are going to be busy for an extended period of time let staff know! We can toss in a plot line or the deputy/MCA can handle leader and medicine cat duties respectively

High ranks have a time limit
You may hold onto a high ranked character for 12 months OOC. After this time span you will be asked to retire, or kill off your character so that others may get a chance. This is not to say you can't kill them or retire them prior. This is just the maximum time you can hold onto a certain rank.

You CAN have up to two high rank characters
It is possible to have two high ranked characters at once but they must be in different clans, and different styles. If you have a leader/deputy in one clan, you could audition to have the medicine cat/mca of another. Please refrain from auditioning for another one if you already have one.

Some ranks have required threads

Leader - Ceremonies at the 1st of the month, the Gathering (this will be mandatory every three months - so once a season - but more Gatherings can occur if in character events prompt it. All Gatherings that are not written out will be assumed to have occurred off screen).
Deputy - The Gathering, and one thread organizing patrols or with warrior assessments
Medicine Cat - The Gathering, and one training thread if they have an apprentice or a duty thread (collecting herbs, treating wounds, etc). If a medicine cat Gathering occurs (this will happen whenever the plot requires it), this is also required.
Warriors - One patrol/training thread if assigned an apprentice.
Apprentices - at least one patrol or training thread with their mentor. Apprentices will also have an assessment thread which is mandatory to become a warrior. If you RP a medicine cat apprentice, they must make a trip to see StarClan before becoming a full medicine cat - this can count as your patrol/training thread.
Queens - Before a warrior can have kits, they need at least three threads interacting with their mate. These can be casual threads and can involve other characters. This is required for each litter.
