steps fell silent is the young cat approached the den of her leader. it was a bit unprompted for the she-cat to do so right now, considering that she hadn’t any meeting planned, but she couldn’t help herself from doing so. there were a couple things that lingered on her mind.. some of them were more important than others, and those more important ones were the ones that she was hoping to bring up with the elder cat this meeting. tigertuft was hoping that her leader did not mind the sudden approach, and she also hoped that she was not too busy at the given moment. waiting a bit and coming back later would not be an issue in the slightest of course, but she would be lying if she didn’t say that she was looking to just get this over with. perhaps spiderstar wasn’t even here right now. tigertuft hadn’t seen the leader enter her den today, nor had she seen her exit it... her scent lingered in the air around them, but that was to be expected. shutting her eyes, tigertuft let’s out a quiet exhale before raising her voice, calm and gentle. ”excuse me, spiderstar? i was hoping we could have a little bit of a chat if you weren’t busy?”

she would be lying if she said that she wasn’t a bit nervous. not that it had anything to do with talking or public speech or anything; those things weren’t her strongest suit, but they hadn’t ever caused much issue or complications for her in her lifetime. instead, the tabby warrior simply could not help but feel the slightest tinge of doubt tugging deep within her. it has only barely been a moon since she had been promoted, and while she felt that she was beginning to feel comfortable with her new position, tigertuft couldn’t help but wonder and ponder over the most simplest things. was she doing enough? perhaps there was more that she should be doing at the moment than merely assembling some patrols and tagging along with them whenever possible, just to feel the ground moving beneath her feet. should she be spending more hours in camp watching over the hustle and bustle of daily clan life? or perhaps should she be doing more personally? supervising over the training sessions between a mentor and apprentice? come up with some ways to more effectively protect and feed the clan as leaf-fall pressed around the corner? ”ah, shut up, tigertuft!” she thought harshly to herself, head shaking as if that would rattle up and erase the thoughts bouncing around her head like an etch-a-sketch. she needed focus on the more important things at paw. and with that, she went over the short list of topics in her head, recalling them briefly as she awaited the answer from spiderstar. or, of course, the lack of answer should the female be elsewhere.
