Female (she/her)|| 36 moons || Leader || (Semi-Traditionalist) Dark Forest || Undecided

⌘︎Appearance⌘︎

One line Description: Sleek calico she-cat with yellow eyes.

Descriptive Appearance: Being of OakClan descent, Ebonyrose carries many of the traditional traits one would expect of an OakClan cat - ginger fur, a large, muscular build and thick fur. However, her years away from home gave her a sleekness she may not otherwise have found, and an awareness of how to keep her paws light.

The she-cat has slightly off-white fur, with tabby orange and solid black patches along her backside and tail, and black freckles along her face, giving her a youthful look. Yellow eyes stand out from the rest of her pelt.

⌘︎Personality⌘︎

Brief Personality: Secretive, Friendly, Determined.

Descriptive personality: Ebonyrose is generally an easy cat to get along with, especially for those in her own Clan. She has a good humour and is pretty agreeable. However, she does speak to the Dark Forest regularly, but does not fall to their violent tendencies (yet), instead using them as advice and practical understanding - because StarClan could never communicate with them like that, of course not. She keeps most of what they say secret, and most of her vulnerabilties also remain secret. Despite it all, she pushes through with a determination to lead her clan and make the most of any circumstances in a StarClanless world.

⌘︎History⌘︎

Mother: Honeydrop - Deceased (Dark Forest)
Father: Crimsonheart - Alive (OakClan Warrior, NPC)
Sisters:
Sunn - Unknown (Kittypet)
Nightsong - Alive (OakClan Warrior, NPC)

Descriptive History:
Crimsonpaw was living the life. He was nearly a warrior, and alongside Irispaw and Mistpaw, was thriving in OakClan. This changed quickly, when a sudden turn in the bad weather drenched the clans, and one night,, while trudging through the heavy rain on a forced dusk patrol, Crimsonpaw saw the massive white sheet engulf the mountains, swallowing DawnClan whole. He got back to camp alongside the patrol to tell them, and a rescue patrol was planned. Despite his tire, Crimsonpaw volunteered, and with that, he headed towards the dangerous snowy peaks.

Nothing came of their operation. It was more of them hiding in caves as the heavy rain continued to lash down, and there was no sign of the camp. In fact, they found a few bodies, suffocated in the snow, and they gave them the best burials that they could. The night after they decided to head home, the worst storm hit. Huddled in a cave, Crimsonpaw waited for it to pass, but it never did. Another avalanche cascaded down the mountains, towards NightClan, which the tom watched in abject horror. On top of that, the river was flooding. This was insane.

It took three long days for the patrol to get back to OakClan, but what they saw terrified them. Nothing. The camp was gone, half washed away, with a few bodies once again scattered, and Crimsonpaw wept as he saw his father among those left behind. There was no time for a burial, though, as the storm continued. Trees fell around him, and in his fear, he ran for his life, leaving his home behind.

The next few moons were tough. Crimsonpaw was a competent hunter and had little trouble feeding himself, but he was lonely. Eventually, a small group formed, both of OakClan refugees, a few cats from DawnClan, a singular NightClan elder and a few rogues. Crimsonpaw found himself wrapped up in the group, and with his extroverted nature, he quickly became the voice of the group.

As time had passed, late ceremonies were held for a few cats, and Crimsonpaw's name was chosen for him by the other apprentices who had escaped - Honeypaw (another OakClan apprentice) and Raccoonpaw (a DawnClan apprentice). He became Crimsonheart, and in turn, he helped give Honeydrop and Raccoonstripe their new names.

Time passed, and the group slowly stabilised. Crimsonheart still remained the leading force behind them, and his wounds over his families death slowly started to heal, as the new group formed a new found family. He eventually fell in love with Honeydrop, and the she-cat was soon expecting a litter. What none of them anticipated, though, was the tragedy that took Raccoonstripe's life, as she was whisked away by a raging river, exactly a year after the tragedy had first happened.

This seemed to be a turning point in the group. Most of them had believed that StarClan were failures at protecting them, but even now, it still seemed to be happening. Even now, cats thought that the dead were useless, and there was nothing left to believe in - even the forest of cats that Raccoonstripe claimed to talk to hadn't saved her.

It was in the middle of this turmoil that Honeydrop gave birth to three girls - Sunnykit, Ebonykit and Nightkit.

Honeydrop and Raccoonstripe had always been close, and after her death, Honeydrop claimed that the forest had now started to visit her, and whispered advice and other things to her, helping them to survive the hard times. This place, called the 'Dark Forest', was a place for cats that StarClan had deemed to be too far gone, and didn't even deserve a chance at redemption - except cats like Raccoonstripe were there, who's only crime was doubting in StarClan's power. This didn't sit right with Honeydrop and a lot of the group, and slowly, they started converging and following those in the Dark Forest.

As Ebonykit grew up, Honeydrop would tell her stories. They would be stories of those lost to the Dark Forest, of how they never did anything too evil, yet StarClan didn't care and tossed them there anyway. Sometimes, there was cats who had a chance at redemption, who were made ghosts and worked as hard as they could to earn StarClan's approval, yet after all of that, StarClan didn't care and still left them in the dust to suffer. Ebonykit's sense of justice was formed from these stories at a very early age, as well as a contempt for StarClan. Nightkit shared these views, while Crimsoneheart kep his mouth shut, and Sunnykit just seemed confused - after all, weren't some of these cats murderers?

Some, but not all.

The group was slowly expanding, but a divide was clear. There were those who believed that StarClan just couldn't help them against events such as the hurricane, and those who believed StarClan didn't care and just wanted to wipe the slate clean. Ebonykit leaned into the latter, thinking that they had survived and would carry on doing so. At least the Dark Forest was trying to help. Under this, she was named Ebonypaw, with a communal council giving her her mentor. Crimsonheart and Honeydrop stood on this council, though they both stood for different sides. The parents split up shortly afterwards.

Ebonypaw had a relatively usual apprenticehood for the times, though she now fully believed that the Dark Forest cared about them, whereas StarClan were only preoccupied with themselves. Around this time, the she-cat began to see cats in her dreams. They went by many names, but they all told her that she was special and had a place leading cats into the new era. The she-cat never let it get too much to her head, but always kept it in the back of her mind.

One day, Sunnypaw had had enough. She didn't fall for the Dark Forest, nor the clans as a whole, and just desired an easy life. With a florish, she left, and with that, Honeydrop's anger erupted. Her daughter, abandoning the clans, the forest? That was a disgrace. Honeydrop disowned Sunnypaw right there, much to Crimsonheart's disgust. Ebonypaw, while not happy with Sunnypaw, would not stoop towards disowning her sister. They were kin, after all.

Not long after, Ebonypaw gained the name Ebonyrose. The group was growing restless, deciding to head back towards the abandoned territories, and with the council at the head, they returned to the ruins of OakClan. At this time, Ebonyrose was very comfortable with the Dark Forest, talking and training on a nightly basis. This showed, exacerbating her leadership skills and confidence, and she soon became recognised within the group.

Much of the same carried on as Ebonyrose grew. She became more entangled in the council, watching her father fade to the back of the group, becoming unusually quiet to most - she and her sister were some of the only exceptions to this. One day, Honeydrop issued the be-all end-all. She would make her way to the old communication with StarClan, and give them one last chance.

She never returned.

The escort who went with her arrived back injured, claiming that Honeydrop asked StarClan to show themselves and prove to her that they weren't useless, and in response, the tree they had been standing by collapsed upon Honeydrop. This enraged the group, and they officially abandoned StarClan - Ebonyrose along with them.

A few days later, cats went to look for the felled tree and Honeydrop's body. Neither were found.

With Honeydrop gone, Ebonyrose took a much more prominent role within the group of New OakClan, speaking the words of the cats in her mind. Honeydrop also appeared there, claiming that the escort had killed her, but StarClan still didn't give her a chance to ask. Ebonyrose relayed this information, and OakClan executed the escort. This wasn't something Ebonyrose was fond of at first, but at this point, and after thinking, she realised that it was for the best. The escort ended up in the Dark Forest too, where Honeydrop finished him for a second time. StarClan wouldn't even give them the time of day.

She was somewhat of a seer after this. Being a cat in regular contact with the Dark Forest had it's pros, and she found herself unwillingly taken into leadership. New OakClan was naturally making itself another clan, and she soon found herself falling into this. Other groups were reforming the other clans, too, and it was about time OakClan established itself, even if she had to lead it without realising.

Spots were filled. Ebonyrose asked Foxspirit to be her deputy, and the most medically-proficient cat, Thistletea, to be her medicine cat. Once OakClan was properly settled, Ebonyrose knew what she had to do. She had to get her lives.

The question was... how? She didn't like StarClan. What would happen?
