Written in the Stars

She is an average build for a NightClan cat; well muscled, little fat on her bones, and not overly tall. She has short, scruffy calico fur that always looks a little messy no matter how much she grooms it, and white paws, belly, and tail tip. Like a lot of NightClan cats, there are numerous scars covering her fur, but the most noticeable one travels down the entire left side of her face. She has bright blue eyes, though her left eye is blind.



Magpiesight is most often reserved, not speaking very much to others around her. If she speaks more than a full sentence to you, you'd be lucky, though those who know her well can coax more out of her. That's not to say that she's unfriendly - she smiles at her clanmates and often sits with them - she's just quiet and prefers to listen to a conversation rather than speak her mind.

She is known for observing others before interacting with them to get a read on their personality, which may cause others to become unnerved by her unblinking stare. She's a very effective scout and can read a situation by glancing about the space. This warrior sees more than one eye than most do with two.

The calico also takes training very seriously. While she doesn't speak much more than what is necessary, that doesn't remove the bite from her voice when she instructs those on the ways of survival. If picked to train an apprentice, she'll be a hard task master, and will push them to their limit. She's not unfair, and will let her apprentice take breaks when needed, but she won't make training a picnic either. She's there to teach the next generation of NightClan warriors, and she will do her best to ensure they're prepared for the dangers that lurk out beyond the safety of the camp's walls.

Despite these quirks, Magpiesight is quite friendly to those she cares about. She talks more around her close friends and family, even if it's just small talk. She's loyal to her clan, and would readily jump into battle to protect her clanmates. If anyone dared to pick on her brother Rowanheart, she'd be there to give the bullies a good thrashing and a few scars to remember her by.

Her favorite pasttime is simply sitting under the ancient willow at night when everyone has gone to sleep, and quietly listening to the sounds of the forest. She also loves the taste of birds, and hates swimming in deep water.



Even as a kit, Magpiesight was observant, perfectly content with simply sitting back and watching the other kits play rather than partaking in it herself. Her parents tried to get her to be more outgoing, but her brother was the only one who seemed to break her out of her shell, even if only to play a single game of moss ball with him once in a while.

When she became an apprentice, nothing much changed except that she grew more protective of her brother. Rowanpaw wore his heart on his sleeve, and that made him an easy target against cats that saw his happy-go-lucky attitude as a weakness. One day on a hunting patrol, the she and her brother were scouting for prey around the murky swamps. Magpiepaw had successfully caught a fish, and was about to show her brother her catch when a lizard monster leapt out of the water, about to clamp its jaws down on her. She jumped out of the way, almost avoiding being made into monster chow. Almost. A few of its teeth caught her and gave her the brutal scars on the left side of her face, blinding her left eye. More cats arrived, having heard Magpiepaw's screams, and fought the beast off long enough for the two apprentices to escape and be taken safely back to camp.

Due to this, she ended up spending a few moons in the medicine den recovering. When she was eventually released, she had to work twice as hard to make sure she could keep up with everyone else. She worked her tail off to prove she can still be as useful as any other cat, despite now being blinded in one eye. It was due to her hard work and her keen observation skills that earned her the name Magpiesight when she finally became a warrior. Rather than be ashamed of her scars, she sees them as merely evidence that she survived being lizard monster food, though she abhors deep water now and refuses to get her paws wet under any circumstances.

Due to losing sight in one eye, she has trouble judging distances for leaps, and has to turn wider in order to see opponents during battles. She also relies on her hearing and her whiskers to feel what's on her left side.
