Blueshade isn't a physically imposing cat - he is long-limbed and lean, built for speed and climbing (a build he makes use of). He grew into his limbs towards the end of his apprenticeship, and has mostly lost the clumsiness he suffered through during those moons. He still finds himself a little awkward in smaller spaces, preferring space to sprint and climb and avoid knocking into others. His paws are swallowed by white, which makes another appearance as a splotch on his chest. These white portions stand out from the slate grey of his pelt, a blue-ish hue that earned him his prefix. Not too dissimilar from his coat are his eyes - a muted blue reminiscent of the cloud-covered sky.

Easygoing, social, a little dimwitted, sincere

Blueshade has a big heart - he carries a lot of love for his clanmates, his family, and quite frankly most others. He's bubbly, and enjoys spending time with others. Blueshade isn't overly chatty, though he's happy to keep a conversation going when the going gets dry. He adores children, and being a father was something he aspired to - family is important to him, and he derives a great deal of joy in making others happy. He isn't quick on the uptake, but makes up for that with a willingness to learn more (or at least, to take feedback). He's also very excitable - a trait that makes it easier for him to keep up with cats far younger than him (an excellent trait for a babysitter).

Though sincere, Blueshade hesitates to share his graver emotions with others. He holds a misguided belief that the world has enough hardships without him adding his - any attempts to inquire after his wellbeing might be met with deflection or humour. This is doubly true when it comes to those he cares for.

Descriptive History: 
Blueshade was young when Oakclan formed,  young enough that whatever his name had been beforehand has been lost (to all but his parents, who never thought to bring it up). Clan life is all he remembers, and he's happy to have it. He grew up with his brother, though they drifted apart during their apprenticeships only to get along as warriors (prior to Willowtuft's death in battle). His parents were doting, and Blueshade knew early on that he wanted a family of his own, eventually deciding that he didn't want to waste time finding a mate. A friend was happy to act as a surrogate for him, and he was ecstatic when Rainkit and Cinderkit were brought into his life. Rainpaw was perhaps a little too similar to Blueshade - the former's curiosity and recklessness likely contributing to his early death by a predator in the territory. The loss of one of his children was life-changing for Blueshade; while he'd experienced loss before, Rainpaw's death struck at his core. While he's far from the most responsible cat (he's not quite childish, but not far off), the loss was sobering and challenged his optimistic outlook on life.

Since then, Blueshade has doubled down on his remaining child and threw himself into parenting and caring for clanmates as well as he could. Some might accuse him of busying himself to avoid dealing with heavier emotions, but - well, he's skilled at deflection, and has no qualms with absconding from uncomfortable conversations.
