➳APPEARANCE:
one line description: tiny, fuzzy calico molly with pale green eyes.
descriptive appearance: sedgestream is very small, especially for a grown cat with small, soft paws that make her steps almost inaudible. her fur is slightly longer than average and fuzzy, the length increasing slightly on her tail, stomach, and chest; it's colour consists of a mosaic of ginger and black patches but with white at her paws and from her face, along her underside, to her tail-tip. she can often be found sporting small flowers tangled and braided into her fur but usually shakes them out once they've withered. her eyes are large and doey but tend to be half-lidded most of the time as she's a very relaxed and sleepy gal, they are pale green in colour.
due to her small size an the softness of her paws, sedgestream tends to be targeted quite often as an easy opponent both in battle as a warrior and back when she was living as a loner before joining oakclan, which has lead to her pelt being littered with tiny scars.

➳PERSONALITY:
brief personality: very relaxed, kind, somewhat lazy, motherly, softspoken, gentle
descriptive personality: the most notable feature of sedgestream's personality is how calm and laidback she is, very rarely shocked, surprised, or scared. infact, she has only experienced panic twice in her life, once when the clans' original leaders mysteriously vanished, and once when she found cloudchaser alone and freezing as a kit. she can usually be found dosing off in camp or in the low branches of trees enjoying the sun, or making small talk with her clanmates. sedgestream's ultra-relaxed nature tends to make her come off as lazy or unbothered but she's really just doesn't let her problems get to her, it's also quite useful as she is able to stay calm in stressful situations where other cats may not be able to.
additionally, sedgestream is very motherly towards all of her clanmates, even those who are older than her, and is always there to nurture others or listen to their problems and try to solve them. she's very gentle and soft-spoken which makes her approachable and easy to talk to, especially for more timid cats. she has a tendency to use pet-names for all of her clanmates, particularly "love", "hun", and "dear" which sometimes comes off as disrespectful if being said to those with authority but is never meant to be patronising in any way.

➳HISTORY:
sedge was born to loner parents alongside a few littermates in the french quarter of the town. her kithood and what would've been her apprenticehood had she been born a clan cat was very peaceful, the majority of which was spent in the abandoned building in which she was raised. it was very rare that the family would hunt for their food and the majority of their diet consisted of scraps left behind by twolegs. although she would soon come to realise that fresh-kill is much much better, sedge strangely didn't mind the taste of old scraps and roadkill and this enjoyment led her to rarely hunt for meals, resulting in her being rather lazy.
nothing super interesting happened in sedge's life as a loner... in fact, it was rather mundane, although she did develop quite a passion for stargazing in the garden quarter. it wasn't until she experienced what she assumed was a weird dream where a strange cat started telling her to join what they called a "clan" in the forest with a bunch of other cats. at first, she ignored it, assuming that she had just ate something strange and was having odd dreams because of it... it wasn't until that winter when she was out foraging for twoleg garbage that she finally acted on it. it was dark and snowing, definitely the coldest night of the season when she found a very young kit, laying freezing cold in the snow. at first, she panicked that the kitten was dead, but after licking his fur backwards a few times, she finally realised that he was still breathing. worried and unable to care for such a young, sick kit by herself, she decided to act on her dream and wonder into the forest, just begging that her final hope was true... and thankfully, it was.
the group of cats named themselves 'oakclan' and were run by oakstar. sedge begged them to take care of the kit she had found and once they said yes, decided that she would also join them to make sure that she could continue to monitor the young tom. he was named cloudkit, apparently after his original name 'cloud', and she was named sedgestream for her calm, motherly nature.
nothing much really changed about sedgestream's personality when she joined oakclan but she began to realise that she was the happiest she had ever been, she never really noticed how lonely she had been living in the french quarter, and has been ever thankful for cloudchaser for being the reason she joined oakclan in the first place, secretly proud of every winter he has survived since. since finding her place in the clan and making herself comfortable, sedgestream mothered two litters of kits, the first of whom, pouncekit and echokit, were quite easy to care for and reacted well to her very much carefree parenting style, letting them express themselves how they wanted and get away with almost everything. however, her second litter, after her first had earned their warrior names, were not as easy. crimsonkit and iriskit were always very loud and spoiled and honestly rather annoying, not to sedgestream of course as she loved that the two of them were seemingly confident and outspoken, but to the other members of the clan who often blamed her for her style of parenting. the third, mistkit, however, was much easier to handle and very shy. she didn't worry about this of course and assumed that he would eventually grow out of it and be confident like his siblings, although she did secretly try to give him special attention to try to help him grow out of it quicker.
since her most recent litter were apprenticed, sedgestream has returned back to her warrior duties... not that she really does many of them, rather, she spends most of her day napping or chatting to her clanmates.
