Descriptive Appearance: Ospreysnow is what one might call 'sturdy' - not necessarily bulky. In leafbare, she appears to be more fluff than cat, with a long and thick coat of sleek silver fur that shields her from the cold. In Greenleaf this fur thins and shortens, revealing its hidden stripes to the eye. Despite all this fluff, however, she is still not unlike her clanmates, large and muscular with big paws. She merely has a slighter frame than some, rather than broad and heavy-set. Among her silvery fur are deep raven striping and stark white splashes, topped with a berry pink nose and clear green eyes.

Descriptive personality: For the most part, Ospreysnow is a very calm and levelheaded feline. While she does prefer to be optimistic and hope for the best, she is not idealistic, preferring to keep goals achievable and expectations within reason. She has a patient outlook on life, knowing that good things take time, but she will be firm when someone needs it for there is a difference between being patient and being a doormat. She can be a little slower to make decisions due to her aim to think things through properly for the best possible outcome, but this aids her in not being impulsive. Some at first glance may think her calm and level nature might make her less attached, but this is an assumption that is easily dispelled.

If there is one easy thing to notice about Ospreysnow from the moment you meet her, it's that she cares - and she's not afraid to show it. To her, clan is just another word for family, and this opinion is clear in every move she makes. Ospreysnow is constantly working to help her clan, to provide and support at every turn. She is unquestionably loyal - to a fault. She throws everything into the well-being and benefit of others, but she only has so much to give. At the cost of her altruistic ways comes her own wellbeing. Where she will work her paws off for another, she will not show quite the same regard to herself. Where she will be the shoulder for anyone to lean on and the ear to always listen, she bottles her own troubles inside so as not to bother anyone else. Her kindness is a double-edged sword - but that is not something to be mistaken for weakness, nor naivety.

Despite her tendency to put others first and give second chances more often than not, she is no overly trusting fool. As though a mother to her clan, Ospreysnow will give them not only her care but her ferocity as well. She will defend her clan with tooth and claw, and she will not hesitate to do what she feels needs to be done. However, even then she has certain lines she will not cross, and it can be hard at times for her to locate them. No matter Ospreysnow's belief in second chances, should someone cross onto her bad side, it is rare they will ever leave. Fortunately, that is a difficult place to reach.

Descriptive History: Ospreysnow knew very little of her mother's past, other than the few details she told her during her sad reminiscing. She had never been a true kittypet, but living as a loner among the twolegs, she was often petted and given scraps. Her life was as comfortable as a stray could get, and she had been content there. It was not until the twolegs betrayed her trust that she decided to leave with her daughter. Details of her mate were also things she did not give lightly, and Ospreysnow had never pried - but what she did know was that one day when her kits had still yet to open their eyes, while Melody had been out seeking scraps, twolegs had come along and taken her kits. Fortunately for Ospreysnow, she had squirmed her way unintentionally into hiding, and explorative little soul even from birth. When her mother returned, she was faced with the scent of a twoleg she had trusted since her youth, and only one kit remaining. Afraid what might happen to her and the remaining kit, she had taken her daughter and fled into the wilds.

Out there, however, life was much different.

By the time her kit was old enough to eat meat, now named Osprey in the hopes she may one day be as fierce and strong as the hunters of the sky, Melody was faced with a difficult truth - she could no longer provide for her kit. Raised on scraps and the occasional lucky catch of a docile mouse, Melody had no skills in hunting, and her kit was too young to learn and assist her. And so when Dawn came along with a small band of cats who had skills in the hunt like she had never seen, Melody made a choice she never thought she would. She gave her kit up.

While the group was quite small and often roaming, they were close-knit and loyal to each other. Occasionally cats would come and go, but everyone worked together, and Osprey truly felt at home with them. Trained by Dawn himself once she was old enough to hunt, she saw him as a father figure in time. So when the stars spoke as Osprey turned twenty-two moons, calling Dawn to the mountains as a true leader of cats from far and wide, she followed him without hesitation as he gathered together cats to join their new journey.

To live among the mountains as a clan, beneath the new name Ospreysnow, was a change, to say the least. It was a future she never could have foreseen for herself, but she was content. As cats gathered beneath their newly named leader, Ospreysnow was proud to teach one of the apprentices among their first generation. With time she grew and learned, open to helping and teaching anyone who needed it. Eventually, a gruff but loyal tom even caught her eye, and with him, she had her kits, given some of the names her mother once told her she would have named her siblings. Chickadeekit, Ploverkit, and Kestrelkit. If only their fate was kinder than hers. While Chickadee- and Plover- made it to warriors in their turn, a fall from one of the many icy cliffs in leafbare brought Kestrelpaw's short life to a close at only nine moons. Grieving deeply for their son, Ospreysnow and her mate could not bear to stay together, though they still cared for each other, and they still cared for their remaining kits.

Another loss that hit Ospreysnow hard was far more recent than the rest. The closest to a parent she had left, Dawnstar, disappeared like a clearing fog. For a few moons, she felt lost without him, but as the ranks shifted beneath her paws, she knew she could not mourn forever. He clan, her kin, needed her.
