➳APPEARANCE;
one line description; scrawny black tabby with darker points, pale yellow eyes, and a paralysed hind leg.
descriptive appearance; ducktongue is a long-limbed, scrawny cat with very soft fur which he was named for as it's texture resembles a duckling's feathers.his pelt is black with mackerel tabby markings, and gets darker at his face, ears, paws, and spine. their eyes are thin and slanted and a very dull, pale yellow which contrasts quite starkly with his dark fur. 
    the most notable feature of ducktongue's body is his left hind leg which is completely paralysed. the paw at the end of it is scarred and often grazed from dragging along the rough ground, although he often has it bound to a stick by the medicine cat to prevent this from happening. he also has a little trouble keeping his long, thick tail raised because of this, and it often hangs low to the ground behind them.

➳PERSONALITY;
brief personality; gloomy, easily-angered, mischievous, rebellious, competitive, creative, argumentative, brave.
descriptive personality; ducktongue is a rather gloomy young cat, often found sulking by himself in the apprentices' den. he knows that he shouldn't do this and that others have it much worse, but they tend to doubt themselves as a warrior sometimes as their paralysed leg causes him the inability to swim, climb trees, and the dragging of his paw on the rough ground can often make it bleed- because of this, he has a lot of pent up anger that he releases through mischief and rebellion. when they're not sulking in their nest, ducktongue can be found sneaking out of camp at night, starting arguments with other cats, and putting himself and others in dangerous positions such as fishing for lizard monsters or starting fights over petty disagreements. he often feels the need to prove themselves and come out on top of others, and feels that being loud and argumentative is the easiest way to do so.
    yet, ducktongue isn't all bad- he loves to make up stories and is quite creative when it comes to this and coming up with ideas. their favourite are ghost and horror stories, and trying to spook the kits and younger apprentices with these, finding it rather amusing to see their scared faces. they are also very brave in the face of danger, never backing away from a threat. some cats may view it as stupid, but in ducktongue's eyes, he is just living his life to the fullest. he is kind to his friends, although they can come off as a little bossy at times and tend to drag others into their schemes.

➳HISTORY;
duckkit was born into nightclan and named for his soft fur, resembling that of a duckling. from an early age, it was clear that there was something different about duckkit than the other kits. while the others were all running around, playing, duckkit would walk more slowly, dragging their hind leg behind them. it was soon deemed that they were paralysed in this leg and likely would never be able to move it. he also often experienced (and still does experience) muscle spasms and cramps in it occasionally. during kithood, duckkit made friends with another kitten, lilykit, who he loved to tell scary stories to and play with. the two of them have always been able to empathise with each other due to their disabilities (her's being albinism).
    yet, despite their disability, duckkit was allowed to become an apprentice alongside lilykit, and was given the name duckpaw. as an apprentice, duckpaw began to realise how difficult warrior life truly was and began to doubt their ability to do it. despite being given the opportunity to become a warrior like his peers, he still found it difficult to do things that most nightclan warriors should be able to do: they cant swim, jump into trees, struggle to walk or run for long periods of time. because of this, they ended up with a lot of pent up anger and frustration, and decided to take this out in the form of rebellion. over time, duckpaw has become a rather argumentative cat who just wants someone to understand how it feels to be in their position.
    unlike most apprentices, duckpaw's warrior ceremony took place when he was at the age of fourteen moons, rather than twelve, as he was made to train for an extra two moons in order to accommodate his disability. he was given the name 'ducktongue', his suffix derived from his creativity and love of telling stories.
